Final Montage

This exercise is my last for this subject....my theme is the slow and painful killing of all fauna in Australia by unthinking, unknowing and knowing acts of consumption and then pollution.  Plastic is killing our world...lasting for a thousand years, slowly degrading into very tiny pieces the size of a grain of sand that even fish will consume as food. Fauna parents will feed their young with it which then slowly die of malnutrition and strangulation. Wildlife in Australia is declining at an alarming rate, especially around the coastline were plastic pieces wash into shore.

Say NO to plastic bags, NO to excess packaging, NO to all plastic that is not recyclable.
Don't buy plastic in the first place!!
Look for an alternative to plastic....vegetation based products are a must!!!

                                                      TOXIC ENVIRO    TOXIC LIFE

Drawing with a mouse!

Well....drawing with a mouse is not a skill I can accomplish ....left handed person here using a mouse in the right hand..gross.

Rubbing out with a mouse is much easier...even with the right hand in control. I will not continue with this technique as it just doesn't connect my right brain with my right hand!!!

Business Cards

Used part of a photograph from the Chinese Pavilion shot, nice font selection and WOW!!

Again used part of a photo from jonos shoe shoot, photo-shopped some great changes of texture and re-sized!

Well this is part of a chine colle print...black and white BUT now it looks blueish...woops will have to fix it! bother....

This background looks flat and repertitious, to much green and the text is very mixed in style.

This card has a very marbled background which creates a texture and has a highlight of light in the centre area. The text is varied in size but not gone wild in styles.

This background is a total boring grey. No white and no black. The text is good and well placed.
The photo though looks very posed and stilted.

This background is great - strong blacks and clear whites and a lovely focus on the face of the cat and a great soft blurring of the background.
Text is neat, and positioned over a pale area so the text shows up well.

The two cards below are good- clean but I like the first one more as it is a- symmetrical but balanced by the large L.   The second card is also a-symmetrical but too heavy with text information.

Pen Tool Selection

This is my first try at pen tool selection, still need to improve on the blur tool to make each object look like they belong there!!!!

This photo originally did not have the ducks in it.
I have photo-shopped in my ducks from another picture.  Also in the background I added in a no parking sign.

This photo is a little darker than I thought....hmmm

Well I think this one looks great.....The original photo has but 1 car in the middle-ground, but through great Photoshop trickery or  'paths', I have copied the car and pasted it into the foreground and with some re-sizing it looks perfect!! haha....

Photoshop processing

My lovely 'Emu' drawing with collage and charcoal.....finally processed in photoshop!

'Too Many Toads' pastel drawing on mulberry paper, then I glued it onto a black canvas...also processed on photoshop.

Penguin print......lino cut process by cutting out what you want to stay white, then I printed the yellow hair, cut away the hair and printed orange feet, flippers etc, then cut away everything I wanted to stay orange, and printed an inky blue /black,cut away everything to keep inky and finally printed a blue/green but the inky made the green a little strong....I managed to print 6 of these and this one was the best....registration is a nightmare!!!

'Moonlight Dancing' this is a lino cut as well but only printed in black.  The print design on the tree branches etc is a chine colle method.  I drew a ground study of leaves and bark etc in pen then photocopied it,mirror imaged it and reduced the size of the drawing...such an effect!

This is a plaster mould of 3 thread reels turned in wood.  Since taking this photo I have tinted the mould with an acrylic wash, glued and screwed to an old piece of wood and an old de-wired window frame and turned it into a wall sculpture!
This is a clay machete of a nude. It has been fired and since taking this photo I have given it an acrylic wash of olive green in the cracks to emphasis the creases of skin.
